Strategic Planning - A good Strategic Plan can help your organization remain mission focused and address barriers to successfully achieving the mission. Paul Yelder Consulting will work with your organization to create new Strategic Plan or update an existing Strategic Plan. We provide: pre-planning assistance, planning session facilitation, plan preparation, and plan implementation assistance.
Business Planning - Even though your organization may be a non-profit, prior to undertaking a new program initiative, it should create a business plan. Business Planning provide a framework for evaluating the feasibility of a new program area, and to determine the resources (human & financial) required. Paul Yelder Consulting provides: program area analysis, program concept development, market research, operations analysis, financial projections, plan preparation and implementation assistance.
Governance - A strong and well-functioning Board of Directors is essential for the success of any organization. Organizational Planning Workshops
"Creating a Practical Strategic Plan for your Organization" - This workshop provides participants with an overview of the strategic planning process. Topics covered include: preparing to plan; the elements of the plan; and effective plan implementation strategies. (1/2- Day)
"Business Planning for Community Development Organizations" - This workshop covers the steps involved in creating a Business Plan for your organization. Topics covered include: what is a business plan, the components of a business plan, how to prepare a plan, and how to effectively use a business plan. (1/2-day)
Non-Profit Governance Workshops
"Effective Boards: Governing for Results" - This workshop covers the basic roles and responsibilities of the Board of a Community Development Organization. Topics covered include: what is a Board, roles & responsibilities, and basic board operations. Workshop participants are provided with materials and exercises to assist them in fulfilling their roles as board members. (2-hours)
"Board Operations: Bringing Out the Best in Your Board" - This workshop is designed to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Boards of Community Development Organizations. Workshop participants review common pitfalls facing non-profit Boards and potential solutions. Topics covered include: meetings, committees, Board and staff interaction, and financial oversight. Participants share their best practices with others during the workshop. (2-hours)
Introductory/ Start-up Workshops
"From Inspiration to Implementation - Starting a Faith-Based Community Development Organization" - This workshop provides participants with an overview of the process involved in planning and establishing a Faith-Based community development organization. Participants review the "7-Stages" of a start-up non-profit organization. At the conclusion of the workshop, participants will be able to determine whether creating an organization is the best option to achieve their goals. (1-1/2 hours)
"The Planning Pyramid - Planning Tools for you Community and Organization" - This introductory workshop provides participants with an overview of the various plans used within the community development process. The workshop covers both community plans and organizational plans. Participants will gain a better understanding of the inter-relationships among plans, the content of each plan, and the process for creating each plan. (1-1/2 hours)
